The schools Published Admissions Number (PAN) from 2025/2026 is 240.

Temple Moor High School is an academy which forms part of Red Kite Learning Trust, which is a multi-academy trust made up of 16 schools.

Red Kite Learning Trust is the admission authority for the schools within the Trust and as such is responsible for setting fair, clear and objective arrangements and criteria for each constituent school. In doing so the trust has complied with the School Admission Code (December 2014) Equality Act 2010, Human Rights Act 1998 and the Schools Standards and Framework Act 1998.

Applications for places in Year 7 at Temple Moor High School for September should be made via Leeds City Council Admissions Team, who will notify parents/carers of decisions on places allocated for September during the first few days of March. Parents and guardians are reminded that they should, whenever possible, use all of the preference choices, in relative order.

Please pay careful attention to the school name, for example, Temple Moor High School is different to Temple Learning Academy.

If a parent/carer does not receive a letter from the Admissions Team at Leeds City Council within the first week of March they should contact them direct on 0113 247 5729.

You must apply to the local authority who empties your bins. If this is Leeds, go to www.leeds.gov.uk/apply.

Information about applying under a specific admission criteria (such as your child being previously looked after). It is really important to ensure you submit all supporting evidence by the deadline to show you meet any such criteria.

Once a parent/carer receives notification from Leeds City Council that their child has been allocated a place in Year 7 at Temple Moor High School, they should then contact the school direct to accept or decline the place on offer. This can be done by calling 0113 390 0773 to speak to our Admissions Administrator or by emailing info@tmhs.rklt.co.uk and marking the email for the attention of the Admissions Administrator.

Should a parent/carer choose to decline the place allocated, they will be asked to follow this up with a letter clearly stating their reasons for doing this and this can either be emailed to the address above or posted to:-

In-Year Applications

(12 September 2025 to 31 August 2026)

If you would like to change schools, or if you are moving into the area for example, you can apply for a school transfer, by making an in-year application.

The Red Kite Learning Trust and its Leeds schools are part of the Leeds City Council In-Year Co-ordination Scheme.

How to Apply

Parents and carers may apply at any time for an in-year school place. Application forms are provided and processed by Leeds City Council.

If you have moved to a new house, please upload evidence of the move with the online application.

Parents and carers will be notified in writing by the school of its decision. This will be within 15 school days of your in-year application being received.

If the school is unable to offer a place, your child’s name will automatically be added to the school’s waiting list, which will be kept open until the end of the school year in July 2026. Where a place becomes available, this will be offered from the waiting list, based on the oversubscription criteria within the school’s admissions policy.

Appeals

Appeals Procedure

Parents and carers may appeal against the Trust’s decision not to offer their child a place at the school. The appeals are arranged by Leeds City Council. Appeals submitted for a Year 7 place, for a child to start school at the beginning of the academic year in September 2025, will need to be received by Leeds City Council’s deadline to guarantee being heard before the new school year starts (see below link).

All appeal requests received by (deadline to be confirmed by LCC) will be heard within 40 school days.

Appeals can still be submitted after this date, and will be heard within 30 school days from the date when the appeal is received by the Local Authority, but this may not be before the end of the academic year.

You will receive at least 10 school days’ notice of any appeal hearing.

You must ensure any additional evidence you wish to submit in support of your appeal is received by the Admissions Team at least four working days before your appeal. Any material not submitted by the specified deadline may not be considered by the Independent Appeal Panel. You must also inform the Local Authority if you intend to call any witnesses or be represented at the appeal hearing.

School days are term time only. If an appeal is submitted in the holidays the 30 school days start from the beginning of the new term e.g. an appeal received in July after schools have closed will not be heard on the 30th school day starting from the beginning of September when the term starts.

If your in-year application is unsuccessful, you will have the right of appeal against the school’s decision.
