New Students
Welcome to our new Year 7 Students
Year 6 Transition
“The benefits of our comprehensive transition process will be that:
- Students arrive at Temple Moor confident, secure and ready to succeed.
- Parents/carers and students are both fully aware and informed at all stages of how school life will change from Primary to Secondary School.
- Students are allocated to a suitable form and teaching groups, based on pastoral and academic information from primary school.
- Learning is able to begin quickly in September, as pupils have prior experience of the school – whether in virtual or practical.”
Mr N Duba – Associate Assistant Principal
You are about to embark on a fabulous adventure as you move from your primary school to studying at Temple Moor High School, and we are excited to be meeting you in the coming weeks and months and welcoming you to the Temple Moor community. We understand that this can be a time where you might feel worried or anxious about the move to high school but please rest assured that we will support you in your move and you will soon get to know a wide range of staff and students who will help you on your journey.
We have strong links with our partner primary schools. Throughout the year, staff work closely together to share good practice and link learning at Key Stage 2 and 3. This has not changed, and we have enhanced how we work together using virtual and practical means. We have already started meeting with our Primary partners to ensure we have key information about students to aid a smooth transition process.
TRANSITION DAYS
Wednesday, 9 July 2025
Thursday, 10 July 2025
Once students arrive with us in September, we do a lot of work to help with the settling in process for all students, the students have both a Pastoral Leader, and a Phase Leader, Mr Sutton. These key staff work with teams of people within the school, including form tutors and teaching staff, to help ensure everyone is informed about new students coming to us and this helps build effective relationships quickly.
Please read the Transition Booklet as this holds key information regarding the transition process, and has practical information about procedures at Temple Moor.
Please feel free to contact us using the email address: info@tmhs.rklt.co.uk should you have any questions or concerns or call 0113 390 0770, where you can leave a message and the appropriate person will return your call.
