Sixth Form Charity Committee – Fundraising for L21 Stroke Ward at LGI
Posted 2nd December 2022
Today has seen our amazing Sixth Form students hold a Sponsored Row in school, in aid of the L21 Stroke Ward at Leeds General Infirmary. A Just Giving page has been created by the Committee: where you can make a donation to this worthy cause, HERE
We know strokes can affect and transform the lives of families across England. Did you know two thirds of people who survive a stroke find themselves living with a disability and 40% of stroke survivors experience anxiety and depression? Rehabilitation is crucial to a stroke survivors recovery. At the LGI, there are physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, dietitians, and specialist nurses and doctors to support stroke patients.
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference to patients and families and help to enhance the care the NHS already provides. Donations will help give stroke survivors in Leeds the very best equipment available whilst in hospital rehabilitating.
Our students and staff have all participated during the event, with Mr West, our Principal, rowing for the whole duration of the journey.
Well done to everyone involved!
