Our Sixth Form curriculum offers a wide range of Level 3 qualifications to ensure students are provided with a broad and balanced curriculum which enables them to fulfil their ambitions.

Temple Moor’s sixth form offers a wide range of high-quality qualifications from which students can choose. These include A-levels, Applied Generals, T-levels and Level 2 courses, as well as other courses to enhance the subject portfolio including Extended Project and Core Maths. Our aim is to ensure that this breadth and balance supports students to develop both academically and personally, enabling them to progress onto high quality higher education, apprenticeships or employment.

These courses are taught by high quality subject specialists, and have been selected to support progression routes beyond Post-18, with links to employment sectors in our region and nationally. Further details on each course can be found in the school’s iProspectus, as can details of other aspects of sixth form life and support.

Alongside the academic courses, all students in Years 12 and 13 are involved in Continued Personal Development (CPD) throughout their two years in Sixth Form. This programme develops students’ understanding of how to live safe and healthy lives, the importance of safe and respectful relationships, how to be active citizens, and focusses on aspects of employability and preparation for higher education. This programme is enhanced through our close work with employers and universities to organise workshops, facilitate work placements, attend open days and provide students with the opportunity to network and listen to people in industry. The diversity of our curriculum provides an excellent preparation for both Higher Education and employment progression.

We also understand that to gain the best outcomes, learning must be extended beyond the classroom. We expect students to become increasingly independent with their studying and throughout their sixth form experience.  These learning skills are supported through independent study periods, a computer equipped independent study room, and access to materials and online resources such as UpLearn. We also are committed to raising aspirations and creating mature adults who are aware of their personal responsibilities to the community and as citizens.

We also feel extremely passionate about giving back to the school and wider community, building in voluntary opportunities through the Quality Leaders Programme, which in turn also supports students in developing their own soft skills needed for their Post 18 pathways.
