Starting this academic year (2024-25) , we are trialling a revised rewards framework designed to provide a more holistic assessment of each student’s contributions to our school community. Our new system will evaluate students across four key areas:
-
Behaviour: We recognize the importance of positive behaviour in creating a conducive learning environment.
-
Attendance: Regular attendance is crucial for academic success. We will reward students for their commitment to being present and engaged in their learning every day by having no unauthorised absence.
-
Learning Qualities: This area focuses on several key aspects, including engagement in class and at home, actively participating in lessons and demonstrating high standards in their quality of work.
-
Display of Values: Our school values of Character, Ambition, Respect, and Endeavour are central to our school community.
We have a tiered rewards framework ranging from Platinum to Bronze which will run afresh each half term. This tiered system will not only reward those students who excel in the four key areas but will also enable us to identify students who may need additional support. We believe this will foster a growth mindset and further develop an environment which encourages all students to strive for improvement and reach platinum. Tiered rewards will range from end of term food treats and free breakfasts to access to VIP areas of school at lunchtimes.
For detailed criteria needed for each tier, please see the table below. This table also outlines the accompanying rewards and support for each tier. If you have any further questions or need further clarity, please don't hesitate to get in touch by emailing turnerp@tmhs.rklt.co.uk
