World Book Day 2023
Posted 27th February 2023
We have lots of exciting activities taking place at Temple Moor to celebrate World Book Day 2023 on Thursday, 2 March
-
Form groups will be taking part in a quiz to test their knowledge on a range of books from past to present.
-
Staff and students are invited to take part in a book swap! Students can bring in any books they no longer need and swap them for an alternative book to enjoy.
-
Periods 1-5, students will take part in a story chain. They will hear a section from a short story read aloud by some familiar voices and will be encouraged to predict what might happen next…
-
Around the school will be hidden some images that relate to different book characters. Students can collect answer sheets from the library and guess each character in order to win a prize!
-
Students can also look out for some inspirational reading quotes displayed around the school and some of their teachers' book recommendations!
-
They can also collect a QR code from the library to download a £1 book token, which can then be exchanged for a new book at participating local booksellers or supermarkets.
-
We also have a form reading challenge launching on World Book Day. Each form group will be provided with a display with 100 empty books ready to be coloured in. Each time a student reads a book at home, they will complete a review and colour in one of the books. Forms with the most books coloured will win prizes! It's time to get reading!
