Temple Moor Sixth Form students celebrate success

Students at Temple Moor High School are celebrating their results after another very successful year for the Sixth Form. A-level outcomes continued the strong improvements seen over recent years, with early analysis by Fischer Family Trust placing the outcomes in the top 40% of Post 16 providers. Additionally, the percentage of students achieving the highest grades of AAB in at least 2 facilitating subjects was 4% above the national average figure, placing the school in the top 20% of Post 16 providers.

Applied General outcomes mirrored this strength, improving by 12%, to their strongest level in three years, and exceeding the national average. These outcomes place the Sixth Form in the top 32% of providers nationally.

This year’s strong results build on a strong performance in 2025, when Temple Moor Sixth Form was ranked among the top ten highest performing secondary schools and colleges in Leeds, based on A Level results. 

Temple Moor Sixth Form offers a range of A-level and Applied General qualifications, giving students the opportunity to choose a pathway that suits their interests and ambitions. The Sixth Form also offers Level 2 pathways.

There are so many individual success stories behind these results, and I am incredibly pleased to see our students now able to take their next steps. Today gives us the opportunity to recognise the many different achievements across the year group and it is wonderful to see them progressing to such a wide range of destinations, from universities across the country to apprenticeships, further training and employment, reflecting the different ambitions and aspirations of our students.

Results Day marks the end of their time with us, but it also the beginning of an exciting new chapter. We have loved having them as part of our Sixth Form community and I wish every one of them the very best for what comes next. I am hugely grateful to our teaching staff and Sixth Form team, who have worked incredibly hard alongside our students, providing the encouragement, guidance and support that has helped them reach this point."

“Results day is ultimately about our students and what they have achieved. We are immensely proud of the commitment they have shown throughout their time in our Sixth Form and it is wonderful to see that work rewarded. The school also recognises the significant contribution of teaching and support staff, whose expertise, encouragement and commitment have supported students throughout their Post-16 studies. 

We have made a deliberate decision over recent years to make our sixth form more inclusive and to provide opportunities for a broader range of young people. That has enabled more students to stay with us and benefit from Post 16 education while we continue to see strong academic performance, including outcomes at the highest grades which remain above national figures.

Most importantly, these results enable our students to take their next steps. Whether they are progressing to university, an apprenticeship, further training or employment, they leave Temple Moor with our congratulations and very best wishes for the future”.
